Golang Job Details

As a Staff Developer, Backend at KOHO, you will be a solution-oriented technical leader in the organization. Most of your time will be spent by enabling developers and teams in the delivery of products in the Growth and Trade space. You will also lead initiatives at the department level with cross-domain impact. This role was influenced by the Tech Lead archetype defined in the book Staff Engineer by Will Larson (see archetype summary here).

What You’ll Do:

  • Define and evolve the technical vision of the Growth and Trade domain
  • Define, lead, and actively contribute as a developer to the technical debt roadmap
  • Partner with managers and enable teams in the Growth and Trade domain by reviewing solution designs, providing a holistic view across all initiatives in the domain, and improving developer experience
  • Lead initiatives in the organization with cross-domain impact
  • Contribute to the Tech organization best practices
  • Review department-level solution designs and architecture decision records
  • Influence, mentor, and sponsor members in the Tech organization
  • Participate in rotating on-call duties and incident management


Who You Are:

  • You have extensive experience with Golang, Java, C#, or similar backend programming language
  • You have extensive experience with REST APIs
  • You have experience designing and building credit platforms at scale
  • You have experience defining and leading technical roadmaps
  • You have experience improving developer experience
  • You have experience with microservice architecture and distributed systems
  • You are solution-oriented - you identify problems, own them, and solve them
  • You have led others in a technical capacity
